Karak Chai, FW24 Edition
Born from the resilience of seeking opportunity in everything, Karak burst into life by blending leftover tea leaves with a dash of cardamom and cinnamon, then adding a generous dose of sugar and milk to create an affordable energy boost. Today, Karak Chai is embraced across cultures as a drink for the Everyman. The word "Karak" literally means stiff, as in a jolt to the senses.
Our version of Karak elevates the classic street style blend with a robust base of Ceylon from Sri Lanka and Keemun from the Anhui province, infused with rich cardamom and cinnamon. We add mango, "the king of the fruits," for a subtle sweetness, followed by orange peel for zest, then finish with an offering of rose petals. Crafted in collaboration with Tealeaves Master Tea Blenders. This is a tea for the forever curious, who make everything from anything.
